The Mensus.

The Movember Foundation.

Men weren’t talking about mental health, and with three out of four Kiwi suicides being blokes, we needed to get them to open up. Talking about mental health is awkward and difficult, and we needed to find a way to make it light-hearted and easy.

We created the Movember Mensus, the very first census designed to gauge how Kiwi men are truly feeling. The Mensus ran in print and online and was promoted via billboards, digital, social and PR. Not only would this allow blokes all across New Zealand to be honest and reflect on their own mental health, but it would give us a true picture of the mental state of the nation.

A nationwide results campaign including press and social brought men’s feelings to the surface and gave some helpful hints for managing their mental health.
